Business Models and Platform Markets
Business Models (BM) incorporate different components, whereas value creation architectures (VCA) can be seen one of these. Platform markets (2SP) are characterized by a trinangular structure and indirect network effects.
Within this Phd-project, the Impact of the market structure (2SP) on the efficiency-based choice (TCE) of the boundary of the firm will be analyzed. For this purpose the electric vehicle (EV) market was chosen and selected EV manufacturerer analyzed.
The results show that for some players it seems to be important for being involved to a certain degree in the infrastructure end of the value chain to support the weaker market side (supply side) to strenghten the indirect network effects and therewith the platform.
